Brazil’s iron ore exports rise sequentially in May
Brazil’s iron ore exports moved up month-on-month in May. Volume, however, was weaker year-on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) data, shipments abroad of iron ore were 32.8 million tonnes during the month, a growth of 10.8% from April’s 29.6mt but 6.3% less on-year.
Export volume in the first five months of 2024 amounted to 146.2mt, up 8.4% over January-May last year. …
