Brazil’s iron exports fall in February, prices strong
Brazil saw its monthly pig iron exports fall in February, according to the latest Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic) report monitored by Kallanish. The data includes sponge iron and iron or steel powder together with pig iron exports.
Brazil exported 299,000 tonnes of pig iron in February, 3.5% less month-on-month but 5.5% more on-year. Two-month shipments reached 608,981t, down 3.8% compared to January-February 2021.
