Brazilian pig iron prices cool
Brazil has seen its pig iron market quieten at the beginning of April. Export prices softened on-month in line with stabilising global raw materials market demand, Kallanish notes.
Sources say domestic levels slipped by almost $5-10/tonne week-on-week in the first days of April. Local producers nevertheless have their order books full until June and pig iron availability in the Brazilian market remains low.
