Brazil pig iron prices move up
Brazilian pig iron export prices moved up in the last days of January. The new levels are in line with higher demand from China and the US, Kallanish notes.
“Demand from China improved ahead of the Lunar New Year and the Winter Olympics,” an international trader says. Chinese steelmakers are trying to secure feedstock supplies now, while their industry slows activity considerably for the two major events.
