Bluescope makes $500m coil coatings purchase in US
Australian steelmaker Bluescope is nearly tripling its metallic coating and painting capacity in the US with the purchase of Cornerstone Building Brands’ coil coatings business.
Bluescope’s annual US coating capacity will increase to 1.3 million tonnes once the $500m deal – which includes seven manufacturing facilities with a total capacity of 900,000 t/year – is finalised by year's end, Kallanish understands.
