Benelux scrap market gains on Turkey’s improved activity
Scrap prices in the Benelux changed direction last week following the resumption in Turkish mills’ scrap purchases.
After decreasing to €340-345/tonne ($407-413) in Belgium at the beginning of last week, dock prices then increased to €345-350/t following Turkey’s scrap buying restart. On Monday, after market players’ return from the holidays, both demand and prices increased further.
