Baosteel restarts blast furnace after overhaul
Baosteel restarted its No.2 blast furnace and produced pig iron successfully on 23 November, following an 82-day maintenance, Kallanish notes. This saw the loss of an estimated 900,000 tonnes of iron output.
Shanghai Baoye Metallurgical Engineering was responsible for the overhaul, which mainly involved the flattening of the casting yard, dust removal system renovation and construction of a new water slag system.
