Baosteel lowers flats quotes in December
After five months of no movement, China’s Baosteel has decided to lower its flat steel offers for December out of consideration for sluggish demand and the steady downward trend of prices, Kallanish notes.
Offers for hot rolled coil, pickled steel and low-to-medium non-oriented silicon steel have lost CNY 300/tonne ($47/t). Meanwhile, thick plate and electro-galvanized steel prices were cut by CNY 200/t.
