August steel imports fall in US
According to the preliminary Census data reported by the American Iron and Steel Institute, August steel imports are down 6.2% versus in July, reports Kallanish.
In August, the US imported a total of 2.51 million short tons of steel, 2.08m st of which comprised finished steel products. This equates to a decrease of 6.2% and 8.4% compared to the import rates in July.
