ASEAN billet edges up on stronger Chinese market
The billet import market in the Philippines saw offers rise last week after the slump the previous week, Kallanish notes. The market has been volatile in tandem with fluctuating Chinese steel futures.
Offers for 130mm/150mm square billet for July/August shipment rose on Friday to $510-515/tonne cfr Manila for 5sp grade. This is $5/t higher from the previous Friday. These are for Chinese and multiple ASEAN origins.
