August import permits decline in US: AISI
US import permit applications requested 2.21 million net tonnes of steel for August, a 3.2% decrease from the 2.28m nt in July permits and a 6.6% actual decrease from the July final import total of 2.37m nt, Kallanish understands from an analysis by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
