The American Iron and Steel Institute released its assessment of the finished steel import market share to be 23% in November from the US Commerce Department’s Steel Import Monitor data, learns Kallanish.
Steel import permit applications for the month of November decreased 9.6% to 2,113,000 short tons from October when permit tonnage equaled 2,336,000st. Final imports of finished steel goods for the month of October were 2,416,000st.
