Africa's February crude steel output declines on-month
Six African countries, which regularly report to the World Steel Association, together produced 1.75 million tonnes of crude steel in February, down 11.8% from January but up 8.1% year-on-year. The six countries produced 3.74mt of crude steel in the first two months of the year, compared with 3.33mt in 2023, for an increase of 12.3%, notes Kallanish.
