South Korean crude steel production falls further
South Korea produced 5.92 million tonnes of crude steel in July, down -0.7% year-on-year, according to the Korea Iron and Steel Association (Kosa). Although the figure was up 1% from June and represents an improvement from earlier in the year, weak demand has continued to force small Korean producers to reduce or stop production, Kallanish notes.
