Kumba Iron Ore agrees wages deal in South Africa
Pretoria, South Africa-headquartered miner Kumba Iron Ore, part of Anglo-American plc, reports that it has signed a three-year wage agreement with two trade unions with recognised bargaining rights.
The agreement, with the National Union of Miners and Solidarity, is effective from 1 July 2014 till 30 June 2017 and will provide for increases of between 8.5% and 10% in the first two years and between 7.5% and 9% in the third, Kumba says.
