Kobe Steel boosts CH wire capacity in China

Japan’s Kobe Steel will invest around Yen 1.8 billion ($17.7 million) in expanding capacity at its Kobe Special Steel Wire Products (Pinghu) division in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, it said on July 24. The expansion from 30,000 tonnes/year to 42,000 t/y of cold heading steel wire for automotive use is due to be completed in July 2015, it added.
