Volvo completes Proterra battery business acquisition
The Volvo Group has successfully acquired the battery business from Proterra and the Proterra Operating Company, strengthening its EV battery capabilities.
The transaction is valued at $210 million, Kallanish reports. With this purchase, Volvo has gained a battery pack development centre in California, as well as Proterra’s battery production and assembly factory in Greer, South Carolina.
