Volvo Cars to become all-electric brand by 2030
Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars said Tuesday it will be a fully electric car brand by 2030, as there’s no long-term future for internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, Kallanish reports.
The company will start to phase out any car in its global portfolio with an ICE, including hybrids. By 2025, half of its global car sales should be fully electric vehicles (BEVs) and 50% hybrids, before reaching the 100% BEV line-up in 2030.
