Volvo becomes first European carmaker to adopt Tesla’s charger
Swedish carmaker Volvo Cars on Tuesday became the first European company to reach an agreement to use Tesla’s Superchargers in North America, Kallanish reports.
The agreement welcomed by Tesla and announced by Volvo follows previous deals with Ford, GM and Rivian. By adopting the so-called North American Charging Standard (NACS) developed by Tesla, Volvo gives its EV drivers in the US, Canada and Mexico access to over 12,000 Tesla fast chargepoints.
