Volkswagen testing DC wallbox for EV charging, home storage
German auto producer Volkswagen is introducing a DC wallbox for faster home charging of electric vehicles, Kallanish understands.
The wallbox will have a charging capacity of up to 22 kilowatts - or double the speed of an AC wallbox. Five sites - Wolfsburg, Braunschweig, Hannover, Salzgitter and Kasse - have been picked to operate as testing centres while the wallbox is in the pilot phase.
