The US Geological Survey and the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology are partnering to use airborne geophysical technology to improve geological imaging with low-level helicopter flights across parts of Nevada, Kallanish reports.
The flights over Nye and Lincoln counties in central Nevada will begin in mid-January 2023 and be completed in April 2023, the agencies say. The project is part of the USGS Earth Mapping Resource initiative (Earth MRI) project.
