UK’s BEV market share slips in April on incentive changes

UK sales of pure electric vehicles (BEVs) dropped in April on the back of changes to the subsidies scheme in place in March, with plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) slightly surpassing market share. The latest data from industry body Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) shows BEVs accounted for 6.5% of the total registrations in April, compared to a 6.8% PHEV market share and a 7.5% BEV share in Q1.
