UK car output falls 12% in May amid electric switch

British car manufacturing dropped 11.9% in May as factories convert production lines towards electric mobility, automotive trade body SMMT said Thursday. A total of 69,652 cars were manufactured in the UK last month, of which 26,475 units or nearly 38% were electrified models.
