Sweden greenlights construction of Northvolt-Volvo gigafactory
NOVO Energy, the joint venture between Swedish battery start-up Northvolt and carmaker Volvo Cars, has secured permission to build its gigafactory in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Northvolt said on Thursday the approval was granted by the Swedish Land and Environmental Court on 12 July. It enables the battery JV to be located adjacent to the Volvo factory in Torslanda, Kallanish learns.
