Slump in lithium carbonate prices drives down Chinese net profit in Q1
A growing number of Chinese lithium battery material firms have seen their net profit and operating income decline during January-March, compared to the last quarter in 2022.
The slump in lithium carbonate prices is the root cause of it, Kallanish notes. The trend led to a drop in the companies' product prices, which then resulted in an overall performance decline. The lower-than-expected market demand also exacerbated the problem.
