SK E&S, Plug Power announce hydrogen JV in South Korea
South Korea’s gas company SK E&S and US fuel cell manufacturer Plug Power are forming a joint venture to build a KRW 1 trillion ($745 million) gigafactory in South Korea.
The so-called SK Plug Hyverse JV will establish a hydrogen technology R&D centre and a gigafactory to produce fuel cells for vehicles and power generation, as well as electrolysers. Details on capacities and location are yet to be disclosed, Kallanish notes.
