Shanghai to no longer offer green plates for PHEVs in 2023
The Shanghai government officially announced that, starting from 1 January, the special policy of providing green car plates for new energy vehicles will no longer apply for both individual and organisational purchases of plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVS), including extended-range vehicles.
According to this announcement, it is likely purchasing PHEVs will require the same level of strict car plate auction processes of purchasing traditional fuel cars.
