SAIC-Volkswagen JV to launch five new EV models
German carmaker Volkswagen Group and Chinese state-owned counterpart SAIC say they are starting a “new chapter” in their 40-year cooperation in China, Kallanish reports.
The Shanghai-based SAIC Volkswagen joint venture will produce three plug-in hybrid models and two pure electric models in China as part of a new technical cooperation agreement. These will be launched between 2026 and 2030, the JV says in a statement on Friday.
