Rio Tinto seeks to use hydrogen for Canadian iron plant
Rio Tinto, Paul Wurth and SHS-Stahl-Holding-Saar have inked an agreement to develop low-carbon steel feedstock in Canada, Kallanish learns from a joint release.
The three companies plan to produce hot-briquetted iron from iron ore pellet using green hydrogen. The hydrogen will be produced from domestic hydro-electric power.
