Rio Tinto purchases battery-electric locomotives for Pilbara hauling
Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto is agreeing to purchase four battery-electric locomotives to help reduce carbon emissions, Kallanish reports.
The locomotives will be used in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and are part of the company’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030.
