RARE EARTH: US government awards $30.4m for Texas separation facility

The US Department of Defence is awarding $30.4 million to Australia-based Lynas Rare Earth Ltd to establish a Texas facility for processing light rare earth elements, Kallanish reports. The company will establish the separation plant in Hondo, Texas, about 72 kilometres west of San Antonio, Texas, through its Lynas USA LLC subsidiary. It will invest about $30m in the plant.
