Nissan adds pressure to Geely's potential acquisition of Renault's ICE business
During a recent business conversation between the ceos of Nissan and Renault, Nissan expressed opposition to Renault's plan to sell its internal combustion engine (ICE) business to Chinese automaker Geely as part of Renault's electrification transformation, according to Bloomberg.
Nissan offered an option for Renault to sell its major shares in Nissan in exchange for Nissan's investment in Renault's budding EV business.
