NICKEL: Nornickel expects global demand for nickel to grow by 2030
Russian miner Nornickel expects demand for nickel to rise up to 1 million tonnes/year globally by 2030 due to increased production of electric vehicles (EVs), according to the company’s director for marketing Denis Sharypin.
"With the increase in the number of EVs, the industry will additionally need in the future even 2.5-2.6m t/y," Sharypin said during a speech at the International Forum of the Moscow Exchange 2021.
