NICKEL, COBALT: GEM announces new project in Jingmen
China-listed GEM Co plans to build a battery grade nickel and cobalt salt crystals project through its Jingmen subsidiary, with a total capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year. The board of directors approved the plan on 29 June, Kallanish notes.
The investment of CNY 310 million ($48m) will be obtained through self-raising and bank loans. The new mill will house two nickel sulfate crystal lines, two cobalt sulfate crystal lines, and two cobalt chloride crystal production…
