NICKEL: BHP inks green supply deal with Toyota-Panasonic JV
BHP will supply nickel sulphate from its recently commissioned production plant in Nickel West, Western Australia, to a Toyota-Panasonic joint venture, Kallanish reports.
The JV known as Prime Planet Energy & Solutions (PPES) is one of Japan’s leading lithium-ion battery producers. Nickel sulphate supplied to the company will be used in the manufacturing of “lower carbon batteries” to be sold to EV manufacturers, including Toyota.
