Nickel Asia’s net income falls on lower prices
Philippine nickel producer Nickel Asia has reported lower net income for the first nine months of 2023, dragged down by lower nickel prices, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a statement that it recorded an attributable net income (net of minority interest) of PHP 3.6 billion ($64.64 million), down 47% year-on-year from PHP 6.9 billion. The drop reflects lower nickel ore prices due to the increase in Indonesian nickel production.
