Motional’s US-certified autonomous robotaxi enters mass production
US autonomous vehicle company Motional, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and Boston-based auto supplier Aptiv, said its all-electric IONIQ 5 robotaxi is one of the first SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicles to be certified in the US.
The jointly developed vehicles were certified under the US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), Kallanish learns.
