LITHIUM: Mitsui to enter Chile’s Maricunga project
Japanese conglomerate Mitsui & Co is eying participation in the Maricunga lithium project in Chile under development by Minera Salar Blanco (MBS), Kallanish reports.
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding for a strategic alliance involving off-take agreements, funding rights and further collaboration on new lithium developments in the country. Definitive terms are yet to be finalised and will follow the necessary due diligence and approvals.
