LITHIUM: Liontown signs preliminary supply deal with Tesla
Australia’s Liontown Resources has signed a preliminary agreement to supply spodumene concentrate (SC6) to Tesla starting in 2024, Kallanish reports.
The binding term sheet covers the purchase of 100,000 dry metric tonnes (dmt) in the first year, rising to 150,000 dmt/y in subsequent years.Tesla will pay a price based on a formula mechanism referencing market prices for lithium hydroxide monohydrate at time of each shipment.
