KoBold Metals discovers Zambia’s largest copper deposit
California-based mining start-up KoBold Metals said Monday it has discovered a large copper deposit in Zambia, paving the way for one of the world’s “biggest high-grade large copper mines.”
The metals exploration company, whose investors include Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos-backed Breakthrough Energy Ventures, uses artificial intelligence to search for new deposits of copper, cobalt, nickel and lithium.
