INSG expects nickel surplus to shrink 33% in 2024

The International Nickel Study Group (INSG) has projected a nickel supply surplus of 109,000 tonnes in 2024, Kallanish learns. The forecast is 33% lower than the 163,000 t seen in 2023. In 2022, the global supply glut averaged 98,000 t, the firm says in a statement. World primary nickel production was 3.06 million t in 2022 and 3.36m t in 2023.
