Indonesia grants 152.62m t of nickel production quotas
Indonesia has approved 191 mineral mining quotas, which allow miners to produce 152.62 million tonnes of nickel, Kallanish learns from the country’s mining ministry.
The production quotas known as RKAB are valid for three years, from 2024 to 2026. Among other minerals, they will also enable the production of 99.24m t of copper, which often is a by-product of nickel mining.
