Iberdrola launches Spain’s first photovoltaic-battery storage project
Spanish power utility Iberdrola said on Thursday it has commissioned the first photovoltaic project in Spain to incorporate a battery storage system, Kallanish reports.
The 40-megawatt (MW) Arañuelo III solar project includes a 3 MW battery with 9 megawatt-hour (MWh) storage capacity. Located in the municipality of Romangordo, in the Extremadura province, the project is seen as an “incubator” for new technologies, Iberdrola says in a statement. …
