Hyundai to start EV production in Uzbekistan in 2023
South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group plans to start production of electric vehicles (EVs) in Uzbekistan, according to the embassy of the country in Spain.
Total investments at the project are estimated at $300 million, with first EV scheduled by 2023, Kallanish notes. Construction of a plant with a capacity of 10,000 units/year is planned to begin this year. It will be located in the Kokand Free Economic Zone.
