GM taps former Tesla expert to lead battery strategy
General Motors is tapping a former Tesla battery expert to lead its battery cell strategy to help the company accelerate the development of more affordable, yet more profitable EVs.
The US carmaker announced Thursday it has hired Kurt Kelty to be its vice president of Batteries – a newly created role. The executive will report to GM president Mark Reuss and be in charge of the carmaker’s new end-to-end battery approach.
