Global electric car sales more than double to 6.5m units
Global electric car sales more than doubled last year to 6.5 million units, beating Wood Mackenzie's forecast of just under 5m units, Kallanish reports.
Analysts at the UK consultancy firm estimate that EVs took a 9% share in the global light vehicle sales in 2021, with 84% of these sales taking place in China and Europe. However, these figures correspond to only 1.3% of the current vehicle stock worldwide.
