FlexGen, CATL team up on 220 MWh of Texas battery storage
FlexGen and Contemporary Amperex Technology announce that they have installed two stand-alone battery projects in Texas, Kallanish reports.
The battery storage projects will each produce 110 megawatt-hours in the Texas Hill Country near Austin, Texas. They will provide dispatchable assets for a leading unnamed independent power producer, the companies said in a joint statement.
FlexGen, with offices in California and North Carolina, is the No. 2 energy storage provider in the US. China-based CATL is a global leader in the development and manufacture of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and battery storage.
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with CATL on the installation of these two 110 MWh battery storage projects,” says FlexGen chief operating officer Alan Grosse in a statement. “CATL’s technical and commercial teams have been good partners, and we look forward to working together to serve more Texans and their families.”
