European Commission boosts ambitions to accelerate hydrogen industry
The European Commission (EC) presented on Wednesday the REPowerEU Plan with increased green hydrogen targets, citing “double urgency” to transform Europe’s energy system.
It says the plan will tackle the climate crisis and end the EU’s dependence on Russian fossil fuels, “which are used as an economic and political weapon and cost European taxpayers nearly €100 billion ($104.78 billion) per year.”
