EU new BEV sales surpass 1.5m in 2023
The EU new car market recorded 1.51 million battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations in 2023, an on-year increase of 37%, according to data from ACEA.
The automotive association revealed on Thursday that BEV was the third most popular powertrain for new buyers in the bloc last year, taking a 14.6% market share. The registrations were only behind those of petrol cars and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
