EU aims to avoid oil/gas dependence mistake with critical materials act
The EU expects lithium and rare earths to soon be more important than oil and gas, but to avoid becoming dependent again, it’s working on legislation to secure critical raw materials.
The European Commission is expected to announce around 14 March its Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). According to a draft of the act, the EU will strengthen its capacities along the value chain from mining to processing and recycling.
